Friday the 13th: Part TRIKKE

I have these friends who run an animal rescue shelter, and last week they got a couple of things called “trikkes.” I had to call them about some kittens my neighbor found under her house, and that was the first time I’d even heard of trikkes. They sent me to youtube and it took about ten seconds to understand why they sounded so excited. I bought the T12 that night, and it was here when I got home from work, today.

trikke_t12-roadsterLooks like it’ll only take a few minutes to assemble, but they tell me I need to watch the DVD first and I haven’t eaten since breakfast. Think I’ll run out and grab a bite, then come home and get started.

I’m told there’s a definite learning curve but that even if it takes a few days to figure it out, it’s a gas just trying. I’m also being told that when they say you need to learn on a flat surface, they mean you need to learn on a flat surface. My friends said it took them three days to get going but that they probably would have had it on the first day if they’d understood that flat means flat. Tire pressure is also critical, apparently. I’m supposed to forget the instructions and pump the front tire to between 85 psi and 90 psi, and the back tires need to be 90 psi – 95 psi.

My friends love these things so much they became affiliates, so if you buy a trikke, please buy it here, tell them you found trikkes through 2muchcat, and Tampa Trikke will toss a few bucks to the animals. They could really use it, and it won’t cost more. If you live in the eastern half of the US, I highly recommend buying your trikkes from Tampa Trikke! They ship fast, have fantastic customer service (thanks, Andy!) and it only takes a couple of days to get your trikke. Order it from the west coast and you’ll be waiting a week to ten days. Once you’ve ordered, the hardest part is the wait.

Speaking of which, can’t wait until my new bumper sticker arrives! All of the profits from the bumper stickers go to the shelter, and this one will go on my car, for sure.

Now I’m going to¬† eat, come back here, and get down to business. It’s still almost a full moon, so a great night for a ride. Wish me luck.
